What’s up all my misfits? How are you guys enjoying the first few days of summer? Today I want to speak on something that a lot of people have been upset about, but without good reason, well in my opinion.
A couple weeks ago Apple held their WWDC 2017, and at this convention they announced some new products. One of them being the new glorious iMac Pro (pictured below).
It will be the most powerful Mac ever built at the time of its release. It will have a super high end processor, 5k display, and work station graphics and memory. Of course all of this will come with a premium price starting at 5,000 bucks. People have gone crazy since this announcement saying the machine is too expensive, you can’t upgrade it, and it’s not for professional use.
What the hell people!? Are you really serious? This is why I think the new iMac Pro is one of the best announcements of WWDC and possibly the best thing Apple has announced in a long time when it comes to their computer lineup.
First let’s go head and drop kick the damn elephant in the room. That price tho, $5000.00 starting price. Yes I can’t lie, that is a steep price tag for a computer. Most people don’t spend that much on car and Apple has the nerve to ask for that price on a computer? They got to be damn crazy. But wait, not really. Let’s break this thing down for a second. A 5k Dell monitor is 2000.00 bucks alone, the new iMac has a 5k display built in, so with that being said lets just take that 2,000 off the price. I mean you got to have a monitor with your pc right? So now we are at 3,000 bucks. A new Mac Pro upper level machine starts at 3,999.00 and it is no where near the power that new iMac Pro will be pushing. So like I said the 5,000 price isn’t really that bad once you think about it.
Oh next is the upgradability or the lack there of in some cases. I know that is a big one for all these “super professionals” out there. Aww man, it sucks because you can’t change the processor, or the graphics card. Let’s be honest how many of you have gone beyond the level of updating the RAM in your machines? Yes, I would love to be able to upgrade this machine but for most people that isn’t an issue. You buy the machine that best suits your needs. You don't buy a machine to get it home and tinker with it. True, in a few years you don't want to buy a new one but if you are always looking for the latest and greatest lets face it you will sale to upgrade like 80% of us.
The third, and final part, that in my opinion makes the iMac Pro worth the price of admission is the DESIGN! Since owning my iMac I must say it is one of the most visually pleasing pieces of hardware I have owned. This is not coming from a guy thats has never built his own machine. I have designed some really nice desktops if I must say so myself but none with the all-in-one design of the iMac. IT IS A REALLY NICE LOOKING DESKTOP! With the iMac Pro coming in the space gray color scheme along with its iconic design, it will be a winner. Lets face it, as a creative type it is really important for your space to be as dope as the items you design with the machine.
Yes, the iMac Pro is expensive. It will not be able to be upgraded although it has more power than anything else right now. Yes, it will look as good as the projects that you create on it. The question you must ask yourself is will it be worth it to YOU? Does it fit your needs and will the benefit outweigh the cost?
Don't get me wrong, I will not buy one right away but I promise one will be on my desk within a few months of release and I will be writing and editing photos/videos just as I am doing on my iMac now.

You actually make it appear really easy together with your presentation but I in finding this matter to be actually one thing which I think I’d by no means understand. It sort of feels too complicated and extremely broad for me. I’m having a look forward for your next put up, I will try to get the grasp of it!
